Celebrating Philippine Independence Day in the city of Niagara Falls

Celebrating Philippine Independence Day in the city of St. Catharines

June 12th, 2023 marks the celebration of 125 years of Philippine Independence! With the FCAN Filipino-Canadian Association of Niagara, we commemorated the special day with a flag-raising here at Niagara Falls City Hall as well as St. Catharines City Hall. Thankfully the rain held off for the outdoor portion of the festivities before a tasty buffet of food (including traditional lumpia & turon) was enjoyed indoors by all.
Filipino Canadian Association of Niagara Open House

May 21st, 2023, the Filipino-Canadian Association of Niagara (FCAN) in association with the Niagara Folk Arts proudly celebrated the FCAN 2023 Open House!
It was an amazing day when people from all across the Niagara Region came to the FCAN open house to experience what makes Filipino culture unique or interesting from the rest of the world! It was a day of cultural interactions, embracing traditions, Filipino culinary dishes and more, a top-notch hospitality, traditional Filipino display of artistic expression featuring performances by the Igorots of Niagara and FCAN Kayumangg Dancers on their rendition of the Tinikling and many other exciting folk dances.
